Self-Check-In

Self-check-ins are available. We will provide those instructions the morning of your arrival via text message to the mobile number provided at time of reservation. This text will provide general information regarding parking, our side porch door entry code, and your room assignment with location.

Daily Breakfast at 8:45 a.m.

A full homemade breakfast is served in the dining room at 8:45 a.m. Please let us know in advance if you have any special dietary needs.

Wine & Cheese

Wednesday and Friday evenings – enjoy a complimentary glass of wine with a charcuterie board from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Please let us know if you are planning to attend.

Pets

Pets, although we love them, are not permitted in the main house. The Carriage House guest suite and the Lafayette Cottage, however, can accommodate up to two pets, $45 for the first pet and $15 for each additional one, for your stay. Please call for details.

Smoke Free

Although the Inn is a smoke free establishment, we do have two designated smoking areas outside.

Not Handicap Accessible

The Hornsby House was built in 1933 and, as such, is not handicap accessible. The Pavilion, however, is handicap accessible and has handicap restrooms.

Right to Upgrade or Change Room

HHI reserves the right to upgrade (at no extra charge) or to change equal room assignments, on any one or two night reservations.

Booking Deposits
  • One or two nights booking: The amount of one night’s stay, plus tax and fees, is collected at time of booking.
  • Three nights or more: Half the total cost of your stay, plus taxes and fees, is collected at time of booking.
  • Event bookings – please request information on those deposits at info@hornsbyhouseinn.com. 
  • A $15 surcharge will be applied to all one night only reservations.
  • All major credit cards accepted.
Cancellations
  • We understand that plans change, but because we only have a limited number of rooms, we must have cancellation policies.
  • Cancellations made more than 60 days prior to arrival date (12:00 a.m.): A $10 processing fee applies.
  • Cancellations made within 15 to 60 days prior to arrival date (12:00 a.m.): A $45 cancellation fee applies.
  • Cancellations made within 4 to 14 days prior to arrival date (12:00 a.m.): A $90 cancellation fee applies.
  • Cancellations made within 72 hours of arrival date (12:00 a.m.): Unfortunately, no refunds are issued.
  • Multi-room (3 or more) reservations and “Event” deposits are non-refundable
  • If you need to move your reservation and notify us by phone more than 72 hours before arrival date. We will move your reservation to another date within one calendar year (365 days) from the original arrival date for a $45 fee. Note: Once your reservation is moved, it will no longer be eligible for a refund of any kind for any reason.
Getting to Hornsby House Inn and Parking

Best to come in on Zweybrucken Road (off Ballard St. In Yorktown) and go past the Yorktown Victory Monument (road becomes Main Street). The Inn is at 702 Main St., diagonal from the Monument. Take a left on Smith Street where guest parking is clearly marked on both sides and the guest entrance is through the screen porch.

Note: If there is a “No Motor Traffic” sign on Main Street in front of the Inn (April through November in the daytime), HHI guests are allowed to go around this barrier to take an immediate left onto Smith Street.

Other Items

Complimentary Wi-Fi. All rooms have hair dryers, irons and ironing boards.

The sunroom is a great place to relax, read a book, enjoy the fireplace or watch the big-screen TV. Multiple common areas are available for guests to enjoy both inside the house and outside.

Complimentary coffee and tea are available 24/7 in the entrance foyer. DVD and book library. Family pictures are found throughout the inn. Early morning walks to the Yorktown Victory Monument or down Main Street are the best.
