Built in 1933, Hornsby House was home to the Hornsby and Bowditch families for almost 80 years.
Throughout that time, numerous life events and celebrations were commemorated here at “The Big House.” In 2011, brothers Philip and David Bowditch decided to continue this legacy of southern hospitality, conversations around the dining room table, and all the reasons to throw a party by transforming their family home into a luxury Bed and Breakfast. Since then, thousands of guests from all over the world have walked through Hornsby House Inn’s doors and enjoyed a special celebration or breakfast around the family dining table, connecting with other guests through the age-old common ground of sharing conversation and stories over a meal.
Located on Main Street in the historic village of Yorktown, Virginia, Hornsby House Inn is in walking distance to the Yorktown battlefields, Yorktown Beach, and Riverwalk Landing with its shops, restaurants, and nearby museums to explore. Williamsburg is only a 20-minute drive along the scenic Colonial Parkway with plenty to see and do including Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Water Country USA, and William and Mary. Or choose to stay put here in a comfy spot in the sunroom or on the front terrace relaxing with a glass of wine or a cup of tea.
We look forward to welcoming you “home” for an unforgettable experience at Hornsby House Inn!
