About the Inn
Built in 1933, the Hornsby House was a family home for the Hornsby and Bowditch families for more than 80 years. Throughout that time, numerous life events and celebrations were commemorated with a party at “The Big House.” In 2011, brothers Philip and David Bowditch decided to continue the family’s tradition of southern hospitality, conversation around the breakfast table and always finding a good reason to throw a party by transforming the family’s beautiful historic home into a Bed and Breakfast. Since then, more than 10,000 guests from all over the world have walked through the Hornsby House Inn’s doors and enjoyed breakfast around the family dining table, connecting with other guests through the age-old common ground of sharing stories over a meal.
Located on Main Street in Yorktown, Virginia, the Hornsby House Inn is walking distance from the Yorktown battlefields, historic downtown, shops, restaurants and more. Williamsburg is only a 20 minute drive away with plenty to see and do including Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Water Country USA and the College of William and Mary. But you can also always just find a comfy spot in the Inn’s sunroom or on the veranda to relax with a glass of wine or a cup of tea.
We look forward to hosting you for an unforgettable weekend at the Hornsby House Inn!
