Inn Policies:

CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: 
 
Arrival time is 3:00 p.m. or after and departure time is 11:00 a.m.  Please let us know if you plan to check in after 6:00 p.m.
 
NOTE: 
 
“Self-Check-Ins” are available. We will provide these instructions the day prior or the morning of your arrival via text message. This text will provide general information regarding parking, our side porch door entry code, your room assignment, and location. 
 
WINE AND CHEESE: 
 
Wednesday and Friday evenings – enjoy a complimentary glass of wine along with our artisanal cheese plate from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. Please let us know if you plan on attending.  
 
HONOR BAR: 
 
Our Honor Bar is available 24/7. Please help yourself to wine, beer or beverage and simply log in your drinks on our Honor Bar log.
 
DAILY BREAKFAST: 
 
A full homemade breakfast is served at 8:45 a.m. Our freshly brewed coffee from Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters here in Yorktown, will be out by 7:45 a.m. Please let us know as far in advance as possible if you will not attend breakfast or have any special dietary needs, we will try to accommodate.
 
CHILDREN, PETS, SMOKING: 
 
Children (12 and under) of all ages are welcome – Pets are not permitted in the main house, however, our Carriage House guest suite can accommodate them with an additional, non-refundable pet deposit of $35. Please call for details.
 

HHI is a SMOKE FREE establishment. (We do have designated “smoking areas” outside.) Please be courteous and respectful of our home. We ask that you dispose of the remnants safely into a trash bin or ashtray.

 
The Hornsby House was built in 1933, and as such, is not fully handicap accessible. Our Pavilion is handicap accessible and has handicapped restrooms
 

** HHI reserves the right to change room assignments on any Single- or two-night reservations at anytime to a comparable room of equal value to help us better accommodate all guests.

ROOM DEPOSITS:

For a 1- or 2-night stay- One night’s deposit is required with your reservation. 

*A $15 surcharge will be applied to all one-night only stays*

For 3 or more nights – Half the total cost of your stay will be required as a deposit to hold the reservation.

 

*Booking and Cancellations*

  1. Cancellations made by guests who purchased the optional Travel Protection MUST BE MADE THROUGH THE LINK PROVIDED in the confirmation email. It is a third-party provider and must be handled through them. We cannot make this cancellation or refund you from the Inn.

               *RESERVATIONS made through 3rd PARTIES i.e., Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com etc. are                        non-refundable at any point or for any reason. 

 

  1. Cancellations made within (10) days of arrival date (12:00 a.m.): no refunds or future credits issued

 

  1. Cancellations made within (11- 30) days of arrival date (12:00 a.m.): no refund, however, we will  forward your reservation to another date (one time offer) , within one-year from the original date – $45.00 reschedule fee (due at time of cancellation). 

 

  1. Cancellations made (31+) days prior to arrival date (12:00 a.m.): a $45.00 cancellation fee applies with the remainder refunded OR rescheduled ($35.00 fee).

 

  1. Cancellation of group bookings of Three (3) or more guest suites or whole house bookings are non-refundable and non-transferrable at any time.  See Wedding proposal for wedding cancelation or reschedule policy.

 

  1. Holiday cancelations (Day of and +/- 2days on either side of major holidays) supersede all other cancellation policies are non-refundable at any time and non-transferrable.

 

 

 

OTHER ITEMS

 

We have complimentary Wi-Fi. *** All rooms have hair dryers. Irons and ironing boards are also available.
